BeesForLife at the Forum des Associations
The Forum is an opportunity to discover the richness and diversity of the local associative fabric, thanks to the 70 Capbreton associations that welcome visitors to their stands.
BeesForLife Asso was present and highlighted its projects to protect bees and pollinators.
It was an opportunity to share BeesForLife's 3 main projects with visitors from all walks of life.
Protecting bees and pollinators is at the heart of these projects
Members of the local BeesForLife team manned the association's stand and explained the benefits of taking part in the projects, either by volunteering, joining or acting as ambassadors to local authorities, or by making financial contributions in the form of tax-exempt donations in accordance with the rules in force, as the association is recognised as being of public interest.
As a reminder, the projects focus on 3 different and complementary themes:
- The BeesForLife application, comprising two modules: monitoring of Asian hornet traps in line with the National Plan to Combat Asian Hornets, and the module for managing the reporting and elimination of Asian hornet nests.
- A solution for diagnosing the presence of nests in tree canopies using a drone equipped with visible and thermal cameras, the images of which are then processed by artificial intelligence to identify the nest.
- The elimination of nests without the use of chilmic products, using a machine for which a patent is currently being developed.
- The Conseil Départemental de Dordogne officially launches its collaboration with BeesForLife as part of APIDOR
- 44th FNOSAD Congress: BeesForLife present with its tool for reporting Asian hornet nests
