The spring trapping monitoring module is ready and available on the BeesForLife website
The BeesForLife "trapping monitoring" module has just been launched and is available free of charge to hobby beekeepers and private individuals.
Other users are asked to make a small financial contribution. The module has also been designed to make it very easy for organisations, local authorities, etc. to manage their "trapping fleet" in a given area in conjunction with professionals and other contributors. The BeesForLife module is an asset for ensuring the consistency of the data collected. It will also enable a link to be made with reports of primary/secondary nests later in the season, thereby providing the desired angle of analysis in the field between trapping and reporting (one of the objectives of the hornet control plan).
Some practical details
We have provided a selection of the most common types of trap and bait in the drop-down menus.
However, if you are convinced that your personal trap and your personal bait are particularly effective, we encourage you to use the "other" option to describe your trap in a few words, and in the next step you can take a photo of it using your mobile phone or computer.
Similarly, if you tick "other" for your bait recipe, you can describe the ingredients.
This will contribute to the knowledge base through your regular and documented practice of recording catches of the insects you identify.
